Join us this Thursday 5:30 - 8 for some VDF wines (Vin de France).  So what is the VDF designation all about? We are working with Flow Wine Group to bring you these wines, and they do a great job of explaining it...... "Aside from the obvious (French wine), Vin de France is a new national appellation from France. France is known for its individual appellations. For example, you don’t necessarily buy a Pinot Noir; you buy a Burgundy. You don’t necessarily buy a sparkling Chardonnay; you buy a blanc de blanc Champagne. Claus Preisinger Wines and More from Austria this Thursday, Aug 5th 5:30 PM - 8 PM

Join us this Thursday, August 5th 5:30PM - 8 PM to taste some stunning Austrian Wines from Importer Volker Wines.  A Blaufränkish sparkling Rosé from Weingut Strehn (think light and mineral-driven, like Gamay) from 35 yr old vines from limestone.  Bouquet of red apples, strawberries and raspberries, with hints of vanilla and cherry. On the palate is crispy, juicy and refreshing, with a lively and elegant acidity.  AND THEN.... a still Rosé A surfer at heart, Claus Preisinger has been making wine on the north shore of Lake Neusiedl in the Burgenland town of Gols since 2002. "What Wine Club is All About" aka a Manifesto by Nichelina

Trying to come up with “themes” each month for wine club isn’t always easy.  This month, I decided to not try to come up with some new organizing tactic for why we chose the wines we chose.  They're not all Italian, or from volcanic soils or New World or Old World.  The 'true spirit’ of wine club is this - each month, we taste through a lot of wine and bring in a variety of bottles to the shop.  Stuff people always want, what they ask for -  the Malbecs, the Pinot Noirs, the Cab. Sauvs.  We look for the tastiest affordable seasonal picks,  which at the moment are the rosés, refreshing whites,  and skin-contact “orange” wines that go down...
