Ciro Picariello has quickly become one of the star producers of Fiano di Avellino. He and his wife started their winery back in 1997, but their first vintage under their own label was not until 2004. Their 12 hectares of vineyards are located at relatively high elevation in the province of Campania, divided between the villages of Montefredane (1,600 feet above sea level) and Summonte (2,100 feet).

This is some serious, ageworthy Fiano from a producer with a cult-like following. Unlike most wines from the region, these are dense and high-acid expressions that reward some time in the cellar.

Sourced from vineyards around the winery in Summonte as well as in Montefredane in the province of Avellino. Soils are clay, loam, and sandstone. 20 year old vines

1250 cases produced annually.

"This is high elevation Fiano (500-600m in elevation) - it reminds you that that southern Italy has some cool microclimates and can make whites as fresh as those from the north. These wines evolve over time and if you are patient enough to revisit the wine over hours if not nights, they will reward you!" - importer, Polaner

A powerful and impressive Fiano, enticing lift of minerals, gooseberries, green apple, white floral silky notes, chopped herbs, hint of hazelnut, amazing texture and minerality that can only be achieved through volcanic soil, bright acidity, serious, and ageworthy
