"The three of us crossed paths while working at Williams-Selyem in 2003 after a few years as cellar rats in California, Oregon, and Virginia. We started Anthill Farms in 2004, making eight-and-a-half barrels of wine our first year. Today, we make eight single-vineyard Pinots and two appellation wines every year; depending on the vintage, we’ll also produce two or three Syrahs and a Chardonnay. We release the Sonoma County Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay to our mailing list members in spring; fall sees the Mendocino County and Syrah offering. Outside of our mailing list, a small amount of wine is released every year to restaurants and wine shops."

• Wolfey-Bearwallow complex soil

•  Cooled by the Pacific to the west, every afternoon there are breezes coming from the ocean helping to moderate temperature for even ripening

• 50% whole cluster
• 3-week native yeast fermentation with daily punch-downs
• Aged 12 months in French oak (30% new)
• 25 ppm SO2 at bottling

known for their complex, ethereal single vineyard Pinots that are not shy in structure and typically display unique savory tones including coriander, garrigue, sagebrush, and charcuterie. very pale in color but loaded with personality and depth. decanting recommended if not cellaring for 5+ years.

92 pts W. Advocate:
"...pure scents of cranberries and blackberry jam with notes of cedar, sagebrush and mushroom. Medium-bodied, chalky and refreshing ... a satisfying core of dark fruit and a mineral-driven, still youthfully coiled finish. Give it ... 2-3 years in the bottle."
