this Fleurie's got some depth - yes pretty and floral (typical of Fleurie) but also deep dark undercurrents of licorice, black pepper, ripe damson plum along with the more expected raspberry and rose duo.

This couple moved from Australia to live the dream of making wine in France. A micro-negociant with sustainable production at the heart of their vision, Le Grappin, headed up by Aussie husband and wife team, Andrew and Emma, makes wonderful wines from Burgundy, Beaujolais, and the Rhone Valley. Located in Beaune, Burgundy, they source from prime, responsibly farmed vineyards throughout the heart of France.

Cru Beauj. with a specific village site added: Poncie

This warm south-facing site tends to yield wines with similarities to Moulin-a-Vent. Being a traditionalist, Andrew used Jules Chauvet’s vintage notes from 1972 as winemaking inspiration.

From old goblet trained vines (up to 80 years old) at the top of Poncié, one of the celebrated vineyards along the ridge high above the village of Fleurie.
