WINE CLUB SELECTION APRIL 2024
We're THE biggest fans of Gilbert Cellars from WA. They make these exquisite "new world" expressions of "old world" blends and literally every single bottling we have tasted from them has been outstanding. We wish we could have them all in the shop. You might be familiar with the two reds we have from them, one of which is a Bordeaux Blend. They practice the new sustainable WA certification, along with farming organically in vineyards where the microclimates make it possible. This rosé is a classic Rhône blend, a perennial favorite, dry and crisp from the Wahluke Slope Ava. A blend of 52% Mourvèdre & 48% Grenache, drink now, drink often, drink chilled.
Grapefruit oil, rose water, peach, stone-muddled strawberries. We met Charlie Gilbert, 5th generation steward of the land (his grandfather has a mountain named after him) and he's the most humble and kind family man you'll meet. Their wine maker is famed Dusty Jenkins (also of Sage Rat which we have also featured in wine. club in the past). Hope you enjoy this on a sunny spring day! 1430 cases
