Location: One of the smallest estates in Sancerre, Grall’s vines are planted surrounding the main hill of Sancerre. Sancerre is located in the Western Loire Valley region of France.
Variety: Sauvignon Blanc Viticulture: Vines ages 8-30yo, planted on mainly silex (flint) soils. Some claysilex and “terre blanche” chalky limestone as well. Most grapes from “Le Manoir de l’Etang” parcel. Although not certified, farming is practicing organic and all soils are worked manually. Strong emphasis is placed on biodiversity in the vineyards, wherever possible. All harvesting is done by hand. Vinification: Fermented with native yeasts in 600L used French oak barrels. Aged on the lees in barrel, then blended into stainless before bottling.
Annual Production: 5,000-7,000 bottles
Tasting note: This wine develops subtle oaky notes and exotic fruits with a touch of vanilla. A gastronomic & refined wine that combines finesse and body.
