This wine represents, with more than 90%, the vast majority of production. This wine is a 100% Merlot, from the terroirs of the municipalities of Vignonet, Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens and Saint-Emilion. They are clay-silicious soils with blue clays, iron dirt and gravel.
It is the Classic cuvée of the property, the definition of what is, according to Catherine and Philippe Cohen, the expression of a Merlot from the terroirs of the right bank of Bordeaux. It is a wine of conservation, which can however be tasted from an early age on the fruit, or preserved, so that it develops more evolved notes of violet, truffle, undergrowth or animal notes.
It is a great classic of the Saint-Emilion appellation by definition.
