In the heart of Vidigueira, at the southern foot of the Serra do Mendro mountain range, in schist soils of sandy and loamy texture, lie  the vines that gave rise to this wine. The traditional grape varieties, mainly Roupeiro, Antão Vaz, and Gouveio, harvested by hand, were foot-trodden in lagares (traditional stone troughs) for two days. Upon the spontaneous start of fermentation, the grapes were pressed, and the must was kept in traditional talhas (large clay amphorae) and used oak barrels until the end of alcoholic fermentation. The aging process for eight months took place in the fermentation barrels, topped up by the talhas, with total lees, and a light stirring each month.

Straw yellow in color. Intense aromas of wild apple, interspersed with notes of white flowers, honeycomb, and dried fruit. On the palate, partial maceration reveals fine tannins, saline notes, and great volume, which together reveal gastronomic character and great complexity. Harmonious, dense, and broad, it calls for rich dishes in winter and long, warm summer nights.
