Kumusha is a wonderful project from somm. turned winemaker Tinashe Nyamudoka.
tasting notes: Red berries, red currant, earth, hints of smoke, medium bodied with nice grip but remains easy drinking. Kumusha in the Zimbabwean Shona language translates to ‘your home’, ‘your roots’ or ‘your origin’. This bottling comes from the 4 hectare Opstal Vineyard, a great site at 300m elevation with Tukulu soil (granite, sandstone, clay).
varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
farming/cellar: organic/biodynamic farming, certified sustainable. Ambient fermentation, extended 30 day maceration in old oak casks. Matured in old 300L French oak barrels for 12 months. Vegan friendly.
pairing: BBQ chicken, charcuterie
