Geographically speaking, Saint-Bris should be categorized as part of Chablis; but it was exiled from Chablis after phylloxera, ultimately shifting its main variety to Sauvignon Blanc. Saint-Bris is the only white wine appellation in Burgundy that permits Sauvignon Blanc in the wines and was only granted AOC status in 2003.

The meaning behind the bottle’s name: “Exogyra” is an extinct genus of fossil marine oysters dating back to the Jurassic era, deposited deep into the earth under the vines; “Virgula” means comma, referring to the curved shape of the oyster shells.

Jean-Hugues Goisot was among Burgundy's earliest fathers of biodynamic viticulture. His son, Guillaume, maintains this rigorous commitment with the family today.

A great go-to for Sancerre lovers. Sourced from 4.4 hectare parcel of 20 year old north-facing vines rooted in Kimmeridgian chalky clay soils. Harvested later than many of the producers in the region.

Apple blossom, crushed oyster shell, wet river rocks, thyme, gooseberry, celery leaf, lemon zest, sage. Medium bodied and racy with a core of limestone minerality.
