There is a vast ocean of CdR out there, from $12 sip-while-you-cooks, to village level, to refined & ageworthy Cru cuvees - this is definitely in the last category. Unique in that this is Syrah dominant in the land of Grenache. Old vines: average 60 years.

sourced from Estate vineyards (three parcels; total acreage 12 acres) located in the village of Serignan du Comtat, north of Courthézon. Soils a mix of clay/limestone, sand and large quartz stones. The surrounding area—with cypress and pine trees, fields of lavender and olive trees—helps to maintain a rich biodiversity which feeds the soils and keeps vineyards healthy.

A “mazet” is a small stone hut often seen in southern vineyards, offering shelter and a place to store tools for workers

Aromas of perfectly ripe red & black fruit, pepper, wild herbs (thyme, lavender). medium bodied, supple, powerful, well-balanced; black fruit is plush yet still fresh, with notes of garrigue spice and underbrush
