Bruno Dangin, Blanc de Noir NV 750ml
Between Champagne and Burgundy... Between Celles-sur-Ource and Molesme...
At the beginning of the 20th century, Joseph Dangin cultivated his ancestors' vineyard in Celles-sur-Ource (10110), which likely belonged to the Abbey of Mores, founded by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux in the 12th century. His son Paul succeeded him, a simple winegrower (not so simple in those days), who began by selling his grapes to Champagne houses before venturing into sparkling wine production himself in 1947.
Today, his sons and grandsons manage a 50-hectare vineyard in the Côte des Bars wine region.
In 1976, after his studies in Avize and Beaune, Bruno Dangin returned permanently to the family estate. He would remain there for 35 years, primarily as an oenologist, before establishing a new estate.
It was in Molesme (21330), 3 kilometers south of the Aube department, that he found a terroir conducive to the creation of an organic sparkling wine, of a quality comparable to what he was already producing. His vines benefit from abundant summer and autumn sunshine, ideal for ripening the grapes thanks to their south/southeast orientation. Rooted in hard limestone soils, the vines yield wines with subtle aromas.
Bruno Dangin applies all his expertise to his Burgundian lands: the same working methods, the same winemaking standards as in the neighboring department. His signature style as a Champagne winemaker is naturally evident in these bottles bearing the "Domaine Bruno Dangin" label.
Today, his son Matthieu manages the estate in Molesme, producing the "Bourgogne" and "Crémant de Bourgogne" appellations, and in Celles-sur-Ource for "Champagne."
