Appellation: Vin de France

Location: Rablay-sur-Layon is located in the region of Anjou, in the Loire Valley of France.

Variety: Pineau d’Aunis

Vineyard: 0.6ha situated right behind the winery, planted on red schist in 2016. Farming is certified organic, with the soil worked every other row. Vinification: After a manual harvest, the grapes undergo carbonic maceration for 7 days. Alcoholic fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, and malolactic fermentation happens at the same time. Quick, efficient fermentation means the resulting wine is dry but retains its fruity notes. The wine is then aged 6mo in fiberglass tank. The wine is racked after fermentation, then once in January and once in February. Bottled in March 2026 with no filtration.

Added sulfites: 2g/HL added during fermentation

ABV: 13%

Annual production: 4,000 bottles

Tasting note: Ruby in color, with aromas of grenadine and cherry. Fruity palate with pronounced acidity, very light tannin, and cherry pits. Elegant and fine in the finish, well-balanced and fresh.

Producer’s note: A fruity, fresh, light, and thirst-quenching red wine—perfect for casual sipping. Low in tannins for such ripeness; the carbonic maceration is expertly done. Balance, fruit, structure, and tension: everything you expect from a Loire wine!
