Carignan sourced from Bartolomei Vineyard, a mid-century planting of dry farmed, head-trained Carignan, located in the township of Talmage. A severe diurnal shift supports gradual and often late ripening. Soil is red clay strewn with fist-sized rocks. Combination of vine age, longer growing season, and tough soil contribute to produce a complex rose with great freshness.
beginning with '22 vintage LIOCO bought out a bigger stake in the fruit from this vineyard, so this is the 1st year they could release as a vineyard designated bottling
aromas of pink guava, grapefruit pith, and rosemary blossom. Crisp and refreshing on the palate with sungold tomato, white strawberry, and hibiscus.
