Certified Organic, biodynamic practices. 100% Gamay. Les Journets is a prolongation of the Blémonts parcel in Chénas that Raphael has been farming for over a decade. In 2017, he decided to vinify this block separately using cold carbonic maceration. Elevage was 10 months with 50% in old barrels and 50% in inox. 20ppm SO2 at bottling.
Domaine Saint-Cyr is located in the southerly village of Anse in the special but not well-known region called the Pierre Dorées. Today, it is run by the dazzling Raphael Saint Cyr: a fourth generation vigneron who somehow still makes wine like he has something to prove. Since taking over the domaine in 2008, he’s constantly been on the move, transforming the once sleepy family business into one of the most compelling in the region.
