San Donatino Agritourism is located in one of the most suitable areas of the entire  Chianti Classico of Tuscani, facing SW on the Val d’Elsa, Castellina in Chianti (Siena), 420 meters above sea level.

Certified organic since 2012. 

The cellar, followed until the last days of Giulio Gambelli and today by Federico Staderini, it has a setting where the traditional sign of the territory and the difference of the vintages have the absolute prevalence of any form of standardization of wines. Fermentations occur spontaneously without inoculated yeasts, maceration is prolonged and the wines remain “sur lie” for several months. The base wines are aged only in stainless steel. The Cru wines are aged in wood.

Varietal: 100% Sangiovese

Soil : mainly marly.

Vinification : spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks. Maceration on its own skins for 4 months. 

Aging : in steel for about 4 months and then bottle for 2 months.

Alcoholic degree : 14%

Serving temperature : 14/16 ° C.

Tasting Notes: Pretty elegant nose, raspberries, cherry pit, black currants, good acidity balance, zippy grip, medium-light classic Chianti.

Recommended pairings : first courses from the land cuisine, roasted and grilled meats, cold cuts and salami, medium-aged cheeses.

In 1971, Leo Ferre the famous French poet and singer – and his wife Maria Cristina Diaz buy this farm where you will establish with your family and where they live today Maria Cristina and children.
