Two friends created Lieu Dit focusing only on the Loire Valley varietal. Microclimates and marine-based soils of Santa Barbara County are ideally suited to this set of grapes. Fruit for this bottling was sourced from three different vineyards to the eastern edge in the Santa Ynez Valley in the Happy Canyon AVA. Speaks to Sancerre more than the typical riper warmer California style you may be accustomed to.
2020 Sauvignon Blanc is a brilliant, high toned elegant sauvignon with great acidity, wonderfully expressive wine. White flowers, citrus, melon, sage, mint, tobacco leaf and crushed rocks confer energy to a wine that is all about tension and translucent energy. Vineyard sites are McGinley and China Blue. - Vinous - 93 pts.
