Dominique Cornin - Mâcon-Chaintré Les Serreuxdières 2022 750ml (13% ABV)
The individual vineyards of this Estate represent the legacy of the Cornins' family history in the Mâconnais. Founded in 1993 by Dominique Cornin, his son, Romain now leads the estate. One of the youngest of a new generation of wine producers, Romain's knowledge is widely admired by his peers, having studied under his father, the Macon producer, Verget, and in the United States and New Zealand.
The domaine comprises 12,5 hectares over the villages of Chaintré, Fuissé, and Chanes. The individual vineyards of this Domaine are an apt reflection of the Cornin family.
The centenarian parcel in Les Serreudières reaches even deeper into the Cornin's roots in Mâcon.
Certified organic in 2003, the Cornins use biodynamic farming methods, and their singular objective is to give each of their vineyards the best chance to express its terroir. The harvest is by hand, Intervention is kept to a minimum here, the grapes are guided from vine to bottle with gravity flow, and the wines are neither fined nor filtered.
The Cornin wines show purity and elegance while expressing their origins, which are the guiding principles of this estate.

dense and layered expression of the grape with a beautiful balance of ripeness and Burgundian restraint. Scents of meyer lemon and candied pineapple are propped up by honeysuckle and freshly sliced ginger, woven with a delicate lace of minerals, drawing you in with irresistible elegance. Stony at the forefront of the palate, with a crushed gravel feel and lithe almond undertones, the wine is explosive in its concentration of mango-lemon curd with a lactic-greek-yogurt tinge, valencia orange rind and potent, incessant minerality that lingers with vigor.
From a 1.5-hectare, east-facing parcel in the very south of the Mâconnais. The vines were planted in 1936, 1985 and 1996. Vines are Guyot trained.

“Our wines are like children in a family. All made with Chardonnay grapes but each one has its own personality. They are like you, like me. Sometimes reserved or shy, sometimes seductive, cheerful or smiling, they evolve and mature but stay honest. They are authentic, in a word, alive.”
A family winery located in Chaintré (AOC Mâcon-Chaintré), Dominique Cornin Mâcon Chaintré Les Serreuxdières is a wine made from old Chardonnay vines by constantly listening to the vineyard and intervening as little as possible. The grapes are harvested by hand and in the winery, after destemming and gentle pressing, the must is fermented in thermoregulated vats with native yeasts. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks for approximately 12 months on fine lees. Finally the wine is bottled without clarifying and with a light filtration.
