Domaine Ciry Cattaneo is situated in the Minervois region of Languedoc and contains some amazing certified organic old vines (this terroir-driven blend is 60% Grenache Noir, 25% Carignan, and 15% Syrah). Vines ranged from 25-80 years in age. Ambient yeast fermentation and minimal oak influence (only the Syrah saw six months in barrel while the majority of the blend was put in steel). David Ciry studied winemaking in Bordeaux and Reims, before completing his apprenticeship as a winemaker all over the globe. Back in France he started a winemaking consulting company mostly for small organic wineries. Medium-bodied, powerful, complex, spicy - a great winter red to cozy up with.
