Certified Biodynamic dry rose from the southern Rhone valley.
Blend of Merlot, Rolle (Vermentino), and Marsanne
Light, crisp, refreshing, beautiful pale color - what else do you need in an affordable rose?
From the producer:
Vineyard: clay, limestone, silt. 9-hectare site close to the winery in Piolenc, certified organic and biodynamic.
Vinification Method: The grapes are harvested at night to prevent oxidation and any loss of aroma, destemmed before being crushed by a light pneumatic press. Put into stainless steel and spontaneously fermented for about 10 days at 17 degrees centigrade. Bottled in the following winter after fining and filtration.
Personality: highly appealing! Tangerine hue, super-fresh nose of red currants, pomegranate, jasmine and acacia flowers, very light palate with refreshing acidity… a perfect partner for any kind of light, summery food and friendly gathering.
"A fantastic Cinderella, rags-to-riches story is at the origin of Château Simian. At around 1920, Sophie Simian, having no direct successor, left her vines to a dedicated worker, Marcelle. Marcelle went on to grow the vineyard with her husband, and their daughter married Yves Serguier in 1955, who was already a grower. In 1981 Yves’ son, Jean Pierre took over his family’s estate and realized the dream of four generations of winemakers: the maturing and bottling of wine on his own estate. Today, Château Simian has three generations working side by side: Yves, Jean-Pierre, and his son Florian. The estate owns twenty-five hectares of vineyards, six of them in Chateauneuf du Pape. Certified Biodynamic, and practicing since 2008. The vines haven’t seen herbicide since 1994." - Jenny & Francois
