100% Pineau D'Aunis (a very finicky red grape varietal - also known as Chenin Noir!)
After several vintages making a Grolleau from a leased plot, the team of B-D is very happy to finally bottle their own Pineau D'Aunis, located just down the path from their Chenin Blanc vines.
A terrific light red wine from producers (and a region) much more known for their excellent whites. Harvested early to focus on freshness (and lower ABV)
"Rabatiere is the name of the place, from the road at the end of the road next to the kennels. Pineau d'Aunis, because it's an endemic grape, to be preserved and replanted, sensitive, fragile and delicate like the wines we love."
a bright, lively red with an explosive bouquet of cherries, plums, cracked black pepper and sage, very finessed palate with red fruit, a wonderful savory quality (herbs, forest floor) and mild tannins
