Skin-contact Rkatsiteli Rosé is an Ancient Georgian grape.
Of the orange wines we are thrilled to offer from Anapea Village, who are reviving ancient Georgian winemaking methods and grape varieties, this is the more florally influenced -- wild strawberry and melon notes mingle with tea rose and a hint of freesia(herbaceous perennial flowering plants), as well as Oolong tea. Gently exotic - earthy minerality essence, touch of river bank funk Gently Exotic- enticingly delicious!
Following six months of maceration, the wines are racked off the skins and gross lees to another set of qvevri, buried 6 meters below ground. With a cooler temperature, this zone is perfect for aging and stabilizing the wines.
The wines are bottled with a very low addition of sulfur and are neither fined nor filtered.
The result is clean, concentrated, and balanced wines. Dry, medium body, bright acidity.
Great with triple cream cheese, St. Andre', potpourri of olives, Tuscan sundried tomatoe flatbread and Sea Urchin.
