Alessandro is arguably Sicily's most in-demand natural wine producer. Each release is small production and never lasts long on the shelves.
15 year old vines planted in clay. The grapes come from the contrada Pietra Rinosa down the valley (250m) on clayey soils. Alessandro points out that grillo is a strong variety which adapts easily to drought and consistently delivers quality and quantity. Grapes were harvested early and directly pressed.
Clean, zesty, joyful, delicious. White flowers, lemon, petrichor, salty sea air, citrus, volcanic rocks, thyme. The sunshine of Sicily in a bottle.
