Mylene Bru was born in Sète and raised in the Corbières, and has now settled north of the port town of Sète, along the Mediterranean Sea. She started without any electricity, on a small patch of soft, chalky limestone that is completely untouched, and shares no neighbors (and so no runoff). Her estate is a small one. The vineyards are covered in a local herb, 'garrigue', which impart an unmistakable savory flavor to her elegant, natural wines.

She works biodynamically with her partner Bruno on a mere 5 hectares who showed up at the estate one day and never left !

There's nothing like listening to Mylène and Bruno tell the story of their wines. It's a love story, through and through, and that's the criteria that matters most to us.

2020 is the first vintage of Soleil de Nuit.

The Cinsault, made up of large berries with very juicy flesh, gives the blend a lot of lightness: nose of red fruits, raspberry, dried fruits and white flowers. The Carignan brings a soft freshness and a certain length in the mouth.

region: Languedoc-Roussillon,

France

varietal: 70 % Carignan, 30 % Cinsault

style: red wine

farming and cellar: biodynamic, certified organic, hand harvested,

La Rompue du Bas, a sloping plot, limestone soil, hot and dry climate. Whole bunches vinified separately. Blended at the end of fermentation. Aged 4 months in stainless steel tanks. Light racking to separate the wine from its lees very delicately.

pairing: serve slightly chilled with squid ink risotto, poultry yakitori, cold garden tomato soup, dim sum or even cheese.
