Fuller bodied, toasty brut Champagne from the 1er cru slopes of Vertus. This house is known for their careful use of malolactic fermentation - they don't block it or allow the full amount of wine to undergo this secondary process, instead utilizing it for part of the final wine (25%). Thus, the perfect amount of creamy, mid-palate richness is achieved.
Sourced from 4 hectares of vines (average vine age 40 years) grown in chalky limestone - what else? Cellared in the estate's 19th century cave. This bottling is always made up of 80% from 3 consecutive current vintages, plus 20% older wines from the family's reserve.
Great balance of creamy texture, bready brioche notes, with modest acidity and a dry saline finish.
