10th generation winemaker Manel Arinyó largely makes sparkling wines from native Catalonian grapes, but here has made a still bottling of a unique rose.
50/50 blend of Ulle de Llebre (Tempranillo) and the very uncommon Xarel-lo Vermell variety both grown in calcareous sandy soil. Xarel-lo is a fairly widely planted white grape, but there are a few plantings in Catalonia of its naturally pink-berried mutation called Xarel-lo Vermell. This is made with skin contact for a pink-hued, ramato-style wine. Certified organic farming with biodynamic practices, hand harvested. Ferments are all naturally done, no filtering or fining, and no sulfites added, vinified in stainless steel.
Amazing tropical notes of papaya and tangerines, a refreshingly bright palate, and noticeably raw with a touch of funk. Pours a lovely orangish pink hue with natural cloudiness. Liter bottle!
